The Pottery

Pine Ridge Studio pottery is made out of stoneware. This means it is strong, durable, and ready for years of use. It is completely hand-made. Most pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel while others are created using clay slabs shaped by hand over plaster molds. All the glazes used are formulated and mixed at the Studio, and all the decorations are done by hand using a combination of sponging, stencils and free hand brush work.

Because each piece of Pine Ridge Pottery is made by hand, each piece is unique. Please note that this means that the sizes shown on the price lists are approximate - there will be some slight variation. Decorations will also vary and may not be exactly as shown in the pictures.

Pine Ridge pottery is made to be used in the microwave, the dishwasher, and the oven. It is completely food-safe.

Pine Ridge Pottery is available at the Studio, at the Carp Farmers’ Market, through Ottawa Artisans, by mail order, or at Moonstones in Carp.

There are usually two sales at the Studio each year, one in the Spring featuring planters and other garden items, and one before Christmas featuring tableware and gift items. Please visit the Events At Pine Ridge page for information about sales and activities at the Studio.
