First some General Info about pottery classes at Pine Ridge :
All classes are here at the Studio which is at 6114 Carp Road, Kinburn Ont. K0A 2H0. It’s a long driveway, you won’t see the Studio from the road!
Classes are limited to 6 (sometimes 7) students. The Studio isn’t huge, and I like to be able to give each student enough attention.
All materials and firing are included. Fees are normally paid at the first session. I take cash, cheques, credit and debit cards and e-transfers!

I have had a great many requests for classes lately. Since I can only take a few students, you may want to also take a look at Hintonburg Pottery or Almonte Potter’s Guild. Both run excellent classes.
As for Pine Ridge pottery classes, here’s the plan:
- Beginner’s Class: Monday evenings, 7 to 9pm. $125, 8 sessions, all materials and firing included. You’ll learn basic techniques such as making a small pinch pot, and get a chance to try a variety of ways of making something from clay. This is an introduction to clay only and concentrates on hand-building. It does not include using the potter’s wheel because I have only 2 wheels and that isn’t enough to accommodate more than 2 students. This will start on January 8, 2024. Class will be limited to 6 students.
- Projects Class: Tuesday or Thursday evenings, 7 to 9pm, $125 for 8 sessions. You will choose your own project. Most pottery projects take at least 2 sessions, one to make the work, and one to decorate/glaze it. All materials, within reason, and firing are included. Working on the wheel can be a project, but only 2 or possibly 3 people will be able to do that. For this class you will need at least some pottery skills. Starts January 9, 2024. Class will be limited to 6 people per session.
